Trauma

Trauma is often the root of our struggles. Childhood and adult trauma can leave visible and invisible marks on our bodies and souls. These marks show up in our relationships, our parenting, and our physical health, among other places. It takes bravery to face the feelings that trauma brings up within us.

Therapy

Mental health counseling is not only beneficial for people already experiencing mental health challenges but can also serve as a preventive measure. Seeking counseling at the early stages of distress can help address issues before they escalate and potentially prevent the development of more severe mental health conditions.

ABOUT ME

Cobi Beyda

Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapist, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) & Existential Therapy

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in addition to being certified as an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapist, sometimes better known as EMDR. I specialize in trauma-informed care for men and women. However, I am also skilled in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Existential Therapy. My methods focus on getting to know the client first and then choosing one, or more, techniques to help the client heal. I also run trauma groups for men and women; separately.

It is my belief that we are all equipped with the ability and the tools to deal with these struggles, but perhaps have some difficulty accessing the dormant strengths and abilities that lie within us. As a professional counselor, I am passionate about getting to know my clients and creating a strong and healthy relationship in order to uncover these inner strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and to live happier and more fulfilling lives.

TESTIMONIALS

Healing is a priority. My clients agree.

I have found myself

Having gone through many traumatic events throughout my life, choosing to see Cobi has helped me in many positive ways. She has taught me to cope with many issues. She helped me to learn about my mental illness and how to manage my medication. She supports me in my decisions and helps to guide me along the way. There isn’t anyone I would want to see other than Cobi. She always makes sure I feel like I matter and that is a great feeling!

I have found myself

A year ago I dismissed therapy and mental health completely; today I am a mental health evangelical, largely thanks to Cobi. She started working with me at perhaps one of the darkest periods of my life. She has served as a guide, full of wisdom, during a journey that I had denied taking for far too long. Cobi has taught me that therapy is not only valuable, it’s necessary. She has listened, understood, counseled and guided me through this chapter, helping me to discover the path to a more authentic, healthy, balanced self; all the while helping me to walk that path with dignity and humanity. With no exaggeration, Cobi’s professionalism and compassion saved my life.

I have been to many therapists before, but I have never felt more heard and accepted in the way Cobi makes me feel. Anybody would be lucky to have her as their therapist.
